Memorial Fundraiser for My Mother Marilyn

Marilyn Ruth Maldonado - Beloved Daughter, Sister, Aunt, & Mother

... Suddenly took her last breath on the night of January 27th, 2021 due to multiple physical/internal & mental health complications at 65 years old.

My mother was a proud, loving, & independent woman. She was born & raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, she worked as a cosmetologist for almost 40 years, and raised a single son. I was so blessed to have a loving and supportive mother who's only wish was that her child was
happy, healthy, and successful in life with no pre-conceived notions. She always supported my career as a queer artist and drag performer and loved seeing every opportunity come my way especially when it came to my art & performance. I loved my mother so much, as the majority of my childhood and into my adolescence she was there on the forefront even when she was struggling with her own personal issues.

In the present day, due to her declining health and disabilities she wasn't able to work like she wished she could to support herself; so the last few years she's lived quietly & conservatively. In addition, unfortunately because of COVID, her sensitive health & pre-existing conditions, in-person visits came few and far between throughout 2020. It's been very difficult to cope with losing a parent, especially as the only child, so suddenly and in the midst of a pandemic.

I know we've all experienced sudden challenges in every day life during these tough times and unfortunately the passing of my mother has now created another life challenge for me to overcome. I've done my best to sustain my own livelihood throughout this pandemic and help her when I was able to, but now I humbly ask my friends & family to help me lay my mother to rest in peace.

This fundraiser is meant to help cover costs for her cremation and memorial. I have managed to save and sponsor as much as I can towards her last wishes, but it sadly isn't enough as end of life costs are expensive and with her passing so suddenly, we were not prepared for this. I understand times are tough but anything would help to relieve the financial stress of this life event.

If you are not able to donate I graciously understand, but of course would also appreciate a share.

Thank you so much for your time and help. Stay safe, keep your loved ones close, and may you have a blessed year ahead of you.
