On Saturday June 13th the Burgess community will come together to undertake a 5k walk in memory of past pupils of Burgess N.S. who have sadly passed during my time teaching in Burgess N.S. We hope to walk together in solidarity and support of the families and friends of these much-loved past pupils.

It is hoped that bringing the Burgess community together will provide support and connection, and express a promise that the short but cherished lives of Patrick, Elizabeth, Niamh, Derek, Thomas and Laura will always be remembered and will stay at the heart of Burgess N.S. and our community.

Donations received will be divided amongst chosen charities that have a special resonance with the families of these past pupils: The Dillon Quirke Foundation, Irish Cancer Society, Pieta, Acquired Brain Injury Ireland and Irish Road Victims Association. Donations will help these charities fund medical research and screening, and provide much needed services and counselling.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, means so much, not just in what it contributes but in helping us celebrate these incredible young people who are no longer with us.

Thank you for supporting and honouring these past pupils and for being part of something that means so much to us all.
