Although John Benavidez is gone, he will never be forgotten.
If you'd like to support the memory of him, rather than sending flowers, we'd like to memorialize John with something more permanent. As a lover of nature and of Colorado, we want to remember John by planting a tree and garden in his honor.
John's memorial tree will be planted in Denver's City Park later this month. Once we know the exact location of the tree, we will share the details so anyone can visit. In addition, we are on the waiting list for a memorial garden plot at the Denver Botanic Gardens for the 2022 season. His garden will be marked and maintained for the year, starting in the spring.
This fund will go directly to the cost of John's tree and his garden plot. Anyone who contributes will have a part in making Denver a little bit brighter, just like John did.
