Memorial Support for Kristin's Family

My name is Meggan and I am the sister of Kristin. We are raising funds to help with memorial costs for my sister so my mom doesn’t have to stress. Our beautiful girl took her last breath at 5:17pm on 12/6/2024.

Kristin was such a strong girl from day one. She had down syndrome and congenital heart disease. Kristin was born with a hole in her heart that could never be repaired. Even with her disabilities and everything she endured she always brought us joy. She was a true light and lit up any room. Kristin had open heart surgery at 2 days old and her life after that continued to throw health challenges her way but she always defeated the odds. In July of this year her health really took a turn. She had a GI bleed and we were told she wouldn’t be leaving the hospital. Her health was not good enough to go through any procedures and fix the problem, we prepared for the worst. And by the grace of God Kristin pulled through and we were given another almost 5 months with her. On 11/22/24 we found out Kristin had developed a blood clot in her heart ventricle as well as her right leg. Our options were limited as her health was not good and we didn’t want to cause her anymore pain. We decided to have Kristin come home and start hospice. It was truly the hardest decision we ever had to make but we had to sit aside our wants of keeping her here and do whats best for her. We let her decide when she was ready and we loved and supported her each and every day until she took her last breath.

My mom & I dedicated our lives to Kristin and we wouldn’t have changed it for the world. Kristin was our life, and we did any and everything we could for her. We both have to find a new normal now & that’s extremely challenging but we find peace in knowing Kristin is no longer in any pain, she is at peace, her heart is now whole. We miss our sweet girl and this pain will never go away.
