Katherine Luz Evans, lovingly known as Katie or Kat, was the most beautiful soul I have ever known. She was a vivacious, radiant woman in the prime of her life, taken from us so unexpectedly on Thursday evening. Her family and friends knew Kat as the one who lit up any room she entered with her infectious smile and positive spirit. Katie was the first person to help anyone in need. She rescued injured animals she found in her backyard or on one of her many runs, and she fostered many dogs in need. Katie was an amazing listener and devoted her time to family or friends in need. Her legendary Barbie Christmas tree was a testament to her unique style and joyful spirit. Katie was the toughest, strongest girly girl, and her presence brought warmth and happiness to everyone around her.

Because her passing was so sudden, provisions for her last wishes and for her amazing son, Taylor, had yet to be made. We are asking for help for Taylor as he navigates the expenses of laying his mother to rest and moving forward in life without her. In lieu of flowers, our family has set up this page to honor Katherine’s memory. Funds donated will pay for her memorial and last goodbye, and any additional funds will go to Taylor, as she would have wanted to secure his future as much as possible. The account will be managed by her sister, Anna Christina, to ensure everything is handled with care and love.
