Jahni Watson was my most resilient patient. It is not an understatement to say that I grew to love his positive, smart, funny personality, his strong will and his trust in his caregivers. Throughout my and other surgeons, countless attempts to reconstruct his narrowed airways, he remained upbeat. Even when he lost his voice, even when he lost his ability to eat (which he regained), he never became cranky or irritable. He has befriended all of the doctors and nurses who met him both at Maria Fareri Children's Hospital and Cincinnati Children's Hospital and was often found comfortably hanging out at the nurses station. His sudden death last Friday has left his family reeling. In his honor, I would like to help defray the cost and burden for his mother, Raynebow who I have also come to respect for her dedication to his well-being despite difficult circumstances. Thank you for contributing. The goal is the exact amount of the cost of his funeral services and cremation as per the family wishes
