Hi All,
Our dear friend Marty passed away 10/08/2021. Marty touched the lives of many people throughout his life. Whether that be through the many years he was a sober living house manager/father figure for many men and women or talking to a complete stranger in the bread aisle at the grocery store. Marty was one of those people in life who could be both outgoing or introverted but gave the same amount of love and attention either way. Unfortunately, Marty lost the battle to his demons of this lifetime. I don't think Marty would want any of us to feel sad for his passing but to celebrate the idea that he has a chance to conquer those same demons in the next lifetime.
Marty was my best friend of 20 years and thankfully a man I could call a brother. He will surely be missed by many people. Marty and I met at an NA meeting in Stratford, New Jersey. We then became roommates 3 days later at an Oxford House. Ever since that fateful day, he has been a man I rely on and that subsequently relied on me. I think most people saw Marty and I as a package deal and in a lot of ways that helped push and mold us into the men we grew to be.
I was put in charge by Marty's mother, Mrs. Figgs, to handle and coordinate a proper memorial service and cremation which all funds will be put toward. As more information is readily available regarding services location and date I will be posting to my Facebook account. Any and all loved ones are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of Martin Ferguson.
