Edmundo Ike Robles, La Puente native and local handyman was a great person who always saw the best in others and in this world. Anytime he came across someone with a struggle my father was the first to offer them help. No matter where he was or what he was doing, Ed was a friend to all. As a father, he made sure all three kids knew how to ride a bike, take the bus, keep a clean home and car, swim in the deep end, and most importantly spread good will unto our fellow man just like he did. He was a son, brother, grand son, dad, husband, nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend that everyone loves dearly. As the day of his passing falls further away from our present, my siblings and I have been blessed to hear stories of how our dad impacted each and every person who got to know him. His work ethic, humor, compassion, sense of adventure, and of course great taste in music lives on in my siblings and I and we will continue his legacy of love and empathy.
To know our dad was to love him. However, no stranger was exempt from his friendly smile and heartfelt “how are you?” He was just the kind of man to remind others of their value and their humanity without ever wanting anything in return. Now, in his time of rest, our dad is free from the heartache of this world, but for us, the ones he leaves behind, our heartache has just begun. In the wake of his death, his three children, sister, mother, and close family members are met with the reality that we must say our earthly goodbyes to our dear Raymond. We are crowdfunding to give our dad the memorial service he deserves. Help give Edmundo Ike Robles, our guardian angel, a celebration of life indicative of all the good he offered to this world.
