Hi my name is Demeka and I’m doing a fundraiser for my son Johnny. Johnny was my middle son who was 21 years old. He was my world. Johnny was diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar at the age of 19-20. He was a very bright boy before the diagnosis. He was very respectful and loving to everyone. Anything he could do to help others was him every day. After a short time of taking the medication he started experiencing memory loss. He rejected the medication at one time and he had to be placed into a mental facility in which where he was court ordered to take an injection shot monthly against his will. However the shot worked for about 8 months until he took the last shot something happened and he said that he didn’t want to take another shot. So recently it was time to go take the next shot and Johnny was in a mental crisis and wasn’t responding to much of anything. I contacted the medical hospital that he was currently assigned to under treatment to inform them that he was in a mental crisis and he wasn’t talking, eating, drinking, he was also isolating himself. I called for 3 weeks straight begging for help and begging for someone to just come out and look at him and they told me that they didn’t do house calls and that they would not be coming out. I begged every day until finally I demanded that they send someone out. On April 29,2022 they sent someone out only to tell him that the shot was court ordered and he was given a couple days to either take the shot or go to jail because it was court ordered. Unfortunately my son did not choose either because he chose to kill himself. This is the hardest thing that I’ve ever had to do in my life to lose a child. When you kill your self it voids out most insurance policies. This is why I’m asking for your help so that I can have a memorial service and also move myself and younger children out of the house that the incident took place in. I’m not working now because I needed to take a little time to heal. Anything that anyone can do will be greatly appreciated. No gift is too small. I know that none of this will replace my son but it will help us to gather in his name one last time in remembrance of him. My ultimate goal is to fight for justice for my son because had the company come out in a proper time manner and done an evaluation they would have noticed that he needed to be hospitalized.
