Memorial Service for Jennifer Kroon
Donation protected
On Monday, May 29th at 10:35pm I received that heart shattering phone call informing me that my "little" sister Jennifer had been found. She had passed away.
Earlier that night our Dad reached out to see if I had been in contact with Jennifer, as he hadn't spoken to her since Thursday night. I realized I hadn't spoken to her since Thursday night as well.
But it wasn't unusual behavior for Jennifer to not be in contact for days at a time, as she liked to try to live her life outside of being in a hospital, as freely as she possibly could.
I contacted her roommate to see if she was at home since she wasn't answering her phone. To his knowledge, she had left with her dog Lexi on Thursday afternoon while he was at work and hadn't returned yet. I asked him to check if her personal belongings were still there.
Opon checking, he found my beautiful sister Jennifer was deceased.
In the late hours of Thursday, May 25th/Early morning of Friday, May 26th 2023
Heaven gained another angel;
Jennifer Renee Kroon went peacefully, sleeping in her bed with her sweet girl, Lexi laying by her side where she remained quietly until they were discovered 3 days later.
Although Jennifer had a long battle with many medical complications throughout her life, beginning early in her childhood with a kidney transplant in 1995 at 8 years old. She also suffered from epilepsy.
And Jennifer was currently in the late stages of renal failure and undergoing dialysis for a second time in her life. We didn't know that this would be her final fight.
My sister was always a very private person when it came to doctors visits and oftentimes didn't share the severity of her illnesses or the advice from the doctor's with anyone.
So you can only imagine how we are struggling to come to terms with this devastating loss. In addition to the emotional toll, the Kroon-Whitehurst family are facing significant financial challenges in covering the cost of the cremation, memorial and other end-of-life expenses.
Any remaining funds will be contributed to Vet expenses to help improve Lexi's health.
Despite her small size, Jennifer made a HUGE impact on the lives of each and everyone that she knew.
So we would like to honor Jennifer's memory and give her the beautiful memorial that she deserves, as she was loved by many.
We are aiming to have her Memorial on/around July 9th. On what would have been her 36th birthday.
If you are able to donate, your generosity would be greatly appreciated and would help alleviate some of the burden during this difficult time. If the only thing you can donate is your love and memories of Jennifer, bring it. You will be more than welcome to join us in honoring her memory.
Thank you.
