To all of our friends, family and anyone who would like to lend a helping hand:
Some of you may be familiar with the tragedies that have fallen on our family over the past four years, others may not, so I would like to tell my story to anyone who can lend a moment of their time.
In April of 2016, I unexpectedly lost my big sister, Taylor and my dad, Todd, both only a few weeks apart. My mother and I weren't prepared and could never have imagined a life without them in it. But we managed and continued on with our lives the best we could, while never forgetting about them. Things never could have been the same and I tried my hardest to move forward in a positive way, but it was impossible for my Mom.
Fast forward a few years until Saturday, July 11th, 2020 and things took a terrible turn once again. My mother's health had declined steadily over the years and she had been in and out of the hospital a few times this year. I was at work in Pittsburgh, when I received a call from my Mom's boyfriend that she was in the hospital again. I could tell that it was different this time and it was a lot more serious. After a brief call from the doctor, he told me to rush out to the hospital ASAP in York. So I left work, jumped in the car and drove out as fast as I could.
When I arrived at the hospital, I made it to her room (only one visitor was allowed. at a time) to see that she was in critical condition and only holding on because she was relying on a ventilator to breathe. She was able to hang on for a few more days until she was ready to let go and be with my Dad and Taylor again.
I am grateful that my Mom is able to rest and she is no longer hurting, but I am very sad that she too was taken from us so young. I am reaching out now to ask for help from anyone who can spare a little extra to help my family and myself with the funeral costs, so we can send her off the right way. Anything will be appreciated, thank you very much for taking a moment to read this.
In loving memory of Heather Hernandez,
Thank you all.
