Hello Everybody, Theo Burt here. Just wanted to first start by thanking everyone for the support and shared kindness during these troubling and saddening circumstances. It truly means a lot and it seems our dad has been blessed with such an amazing group of friends, family, and loved ones. My sister Julia and I have decided we’d like to hold a small memorial service for our dad to allow everyone to visit and remember the times shared with him during his life. We are in contact with Chapel of the Pines located in the Spring Branch area who are willing to let use their location to set up a service. It’ll take place this Friday 12/31, from 11 - 2 that will be a come in and out as you please type of arrangement, which will give you the time needed for prayers and thoughts. The start time is still undecided, as we are still waiting to hear back from the facility regarding that, but will definitely start much earlier in the day. I’ll make sure to have that information made public as soon as possible.

As far as our dad himself and what follows after, Julia and I have been in close contact with some of his closest living relatives and loved ones including his step mom Lota Burt, one of his dearest friends and companions Toni VanZant, and our loving mom Laura Janene. Based off of everybody’s input and combined memories regarding my dad, we have decided to proceed with a cremation. It’s what we know he would want and feel comfortable with the arrangement. We expect this will take place weeks if not a month or so after a service has been held. Discussions about where we may bury him have also been brought up, but all we have thought up so far is traveling north to Abilene Texas where his father is buried and laying him to rest in the presence of his step mother Lota Burt, but this occasion will be done privately. However if you have any questions in the future regarding this and would like to find out where this will take place for visiting purposes I will be more than happy to answer them.

With all of that being said Julia and I are seeking your help to raise the funds needed to acquire the resources and services to move forward with these tasks. It’s so important to us that our dad is given the proper treatment and respect he deserves in these passing times. Not only for us, but everyone he loved who is mourning his passing. We would be eternally grateful, as we can then begin the healing process as the new year approaches.
