Who this will help
To all of our family and friends,
I am writing to you all to let you know the sudden passing of John aka "Miko." This passing came at an unexpected time and we are all devastated by it.
Most of you know John as the most carefree, kind and loving person that he was. While he always put everyone else first, John was fighting battles with his health for quite some time. You would never know by the way he carries himself and the way he always lit up every gathering and event he was a part of. Unfortunately, his health caught up with him and he was taken away from us too early at only the age of 35. Up to his last days, he was still the same bubbly, happy, make everyone laugh and smile self, which is why so many people are surprised with his sudden passing. He put all his friends and family first, no matter what he was going through. Most of you that knew him know exactly what I'm talking about.
He was loved by so many of us. His spirit attracted most of us to him. His smile was heart-warming. His laugh was contagious. He was so giving even if it meant he wouldn't have enough for himself. He was certainly one of the most self-less generous person that most of us will ever know. Whether you've known him all your life or you've only met him a handful of times, he would have the same impact on your life. That's how amazing of a person he was.
He was an amazing family man, a brother, a kind friend, and became a brand new Uncle just days before his passing.
Why I'm fundraising
With trying to help John move on and be at peace, his family is searching for help with the cost of his memorial service. His memorial service is scheduled for 12/29/2023 (Friday) between 10am-2pm at Neptune Society of Northern California located at 1645 El Camino Real, Belmont, CA 94002.
John has a lot of friends from all over the world and if you can also help me by sharing this post to make sure no one misses his memorial service if they wanted to attend.
UPDATE: Hello everyone, my family and I have secured a place to gather after the viewing/memorial service of John. From 3pm-8pm, we are all getting together at the Parish Hall, located behind the St. Marks Church in Belmont. The address for the facility is 325 Marine View Ave, Belmont, CA 94002.
There will be a lot of parking available for everyone. My family and I will be serving some of John's favorite foods and snacks, so come hungry as we all celebrate John on how I feel like he would want us too, with lots of friends, family and full stomachs. I will be buying some refreshments as well (ie: sodas, waters, beers and wine) but if you wanted to bring your own drink of choice, you are able to(and encouraged) do so as well. Although we are going to have plenty of food, anyone is welcome to bring a dish or food that they loved to share with John. I can reimburse anyone planning on bringing a dish or liquor/beer with the funds we receive through his gofundme. You can message me directly if you plan to do so, so I can plan and coordinate on reimbursing everyone trying to contribute to the food and drinks. Although this is a sad time for such a gathering, I encourage all of us to try to be as happy as possible while celebrating John. I know he would want it to be this way. I am looking forward to seeing all of you and reminisce all the amazing times we had with John. I know we all have stories with him and cant wait to hear about all his adventures and his life through each and everyone one of you.
Please consider donating, as any amount will truly help my family during this difficult time.
The impact of your support
Unfortunately the cost of such service is expensive and one that my family needs help with. I am currently asking for help with funding John's unexpected memorial service to help my entire family out. Every single penny we receive through this fundraiser will go directly to my family to help cover the cost of the memorial service and gathering after the service.
Half the cost of his entire service will be around $5000+, the other half will be covered by my family. I know money may come short-handed for most of us especially around the holidays, so we appreciate everything and anything we get, even if its just helping us with sharing this post. Knowing my brother John, he would want us to celebrate him in happiness instead of sadness. $1000 of the funds we receive will go towards a gathering we are trying to organize after his memorial service, towards some of John's favorite eats and drinks. This is for all his friends and family to get together and reminisce, share our best memories with John, and for anyone else that needs help going through this difficult time.
