Support funding a memorial scholarship in memory of Joseph Lopez
On March 13, 2020 we lost a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin & friend, Joseph Lopez (previously of Honolulu, HI), in a tragic car accident along with two of his best friends, Michelle Roman & Eliesel Rivera, all alumni of Mira Mesa High School. All three were wonderful young adults whose lives were cut far too short.
Joseph was a unique teenager who you actually looked forward to & genuinely enjoyed spending time with. He was joyful, full of life, curious, sweet, intelligent, brave, easy going, competitive, confident, responsible, & driven. Joseph loved to spend time with those he loved, laughing, goofing off, joking around, competing, wrestling, playing games, & having fun through any innocent means. He had a love for his pets, listening to music, spicy foods, watching & discussing the NFL, working out & taking on competitions, challenges & dares anyone would give him or he gave himself. He was such a thoughtful soul & had such a big heart, always thinking of others, making sure that everyone felt a part of the group, & putting everyone before himself. He was rarely without a smile & cheerful laugh. He was the light to everyone around him.
Joseph was such a great kid & growing into an incredible young man. He worked hard & was dedicated to succeed. Through his high school academic achievements, he was awarded free tuition his first two years of college with San Diego Promise. At the age of 19, Joseph maxed out a retirement fund as a college student working at Target. Joseph’s ambitious financial goals & discipline were one of the truly impressive things for a 19-year-old.
We love & miss you every day Joseph. We hope you knew the positive impact you had on everyone in your life. Thank you for being you, loving us for who we were & for teaching us all to be better. We try to make you proud every day. It was an honor to have you in our lives.
Joseph would have turned 20 on December 12th. Please help us celebrate the great kid Joseph was, the memory of his birthday, & the legacy he left behind by contributing to a memorial scholarship in his honor.
He was a very special young man. Thank you so much for your support & helping make it possible for his legacy to live on to positively impact the lives of others.
Our Fundraising Goal
$6,000 to fund memorial scholarships to be awarded in spring 2021.
Our partnership with Mira Mesa High School
We will be awarding the scholarship to a senior(s) in Joseph’s alma mater, Mira Mesa High School’s Class of 2021.
Your Impact
Any contribution you make will go straight to the scholarship fund. The more money that’s raised, the more scholarships we can award.
