Memorial Mural For Kevin Clarke

Kevin Clarke was killed on 9th March 2018 due to excessive force after being restrained by 9 police officers in Lewisham.
Kevin was 35 year old loving, trustworthy, charismatic person who was seen by many as a gentle giant. Kevin was a muched love family man who was athletic and community minded. He was passionate about helping and supporting many young people in his local area, particularly through sport. He aspired to one day be a football coach. He is deeply missed, by his family and the local community.
The inquest into his death begins on Monday 7th September where his family hope to find answers and justice for themselves and the community.
Wendy Clarke, Kevin’s mother, said on behalf of the family: “Kevin’s death has been devastating for his family and friends. We need a detailed and accurate account of the circumstances of his death including the use of force, medical emergency assessment and response. We hope that this inquest will provide us with answers we and the community need.”
In a tribute to Kevin's life and memory, and to raise awareness for the #JusticeForKevinClarke campaign and ongoing inquest, we would like to commission a Memorial Mural to honour Kevin.
The mural will painted by a local Black street artist opposite Lewisham Police station. This will also serve as a place people can gather and lay flowers or tributes if they wish.
Any additional funds that are raised through your generosity will go directly and entirely to the Clarke family to help with their legal expenses and other costs.
Many people are now aware of the ongoing police brutality that is happening in America but lots of people are still unaware that this is also happening here in the UK in our communities too.
