Memorial & Medical Expenses for William McConnell

Our sweet William passed away on July 28th, 2022, at the tender age of 14, due to injuries sustained from being hit by a car. While he received immediate care within the trauma unit at Regional One Medical Center, it was later determined that his injuries were too severe, and no brain activity was detected. With William’s loving spirit in mind, his parents easily made the difficult decision to donate his organs, knowing that he would want to help as many people as he possibly could.

William was a sweet, genuine, kind-hearted, fun-loving kid. He never met a stranger and loved getting to know people. Wise beyond his years, he would sit and talk for hours with anyone he’d meet and tell the most interesting stories. His family and friends were his world, and he was greatly loved by all who knew him.

Given the sheer volume of family, friends, church groups, and those within our community reaching out inquiring where and how to help, at this time, the best way you can assist the McConnells is to support them with all of the unexpected medical costs and those related to William’s memorial service, as this is a burden we would all like to shield his parents from shouldering alone.

Additionally, William loved skateboarding and spent many hours every month at Society Skatepark. After the expenses mentioned above, his family would like to utilize any remaining funds to donate a custom ramp, designed by Society, in honor of William, so that fellow skateboarders, of all ages, will be able to enjoy his favorite park for years to come.
