Beloved Mimsy Memorial & Medical Costs

There are a billion reasons to love and honor Delaine Ashwana, our mamama, or Ms. Ashwana as she was known to many, as well as a billion lessons she has taught us over the year. 

One particular lesson I have shared before, was both reading and interpreting what I’m reading - I would NOT go to sleep until I understood the point of every story. So she solved that problem with the ingenuity of ALL the women in my family by telling the moral of almost every story we read together was “And that is what happens when little girls don’t listen to their mothers.” And I would think “Shiiiiit, Im’ma ALWAYS listen to MY mommy!!”

Last Saturday we lost our beloved mother and we are searching for the moral, missing her laughter, aching for that sense of safety and connection knowing she was near, completely shattered - we didn’t think this story was yet over. 

With this unexpected loss, we deeply appreciate any support you can provide to help cover the memorial costs as well as the medical expenses incurred as she fought lung cancer. If you are not able to share financial resources, we will post updates of how you can share memories and celebrate the incredible life of our beloved mother.
