On May 5th, our beloved grandchild was tragically taken from us near Dunnellon, Florida. Known by many names—Spot, Spotzie, Momma Spotzie, Hailey, and more—he was a wonderful, giving person who touched countless lives. As a proud member of the Transgender LGBTQ+ community, he embraced his true self and brought warmth and kindness to everyone he met. Despite facing many challenges, including a developmental disability and the struggle to regain Social Security disability payments, he never let hardship stop him from helping others. Even though he owned little, he would give anyone the shirt off his back.

Our family is devastated by this loss. Marion County Detectives are still investigating this heartbreaking crime, and we are left to honor our grandchild’s memory in the best way we can. We want to give him the dignified funeral and memorial he deserves, surrounded by the love and respect he gave so freely to others.
