“Duke”
Werner Garret Duke
Sunrise: November 13, 1965 and Sunset: November 10, 2018
Duke loved humor, talking, making people smile and always trying to “win one with his wife.”
Duke resided in Canyon, Texas and was the main provider for his family. He would also tell you that he was from “everywhere!”
On November 10, 2018, God took Duke to his “Heavenly Home”. Even though he had been in and out of the hospital prior to his death, his death was totally unexpected. God gave him the “Ultimate Healing” three days prior to his 53rd birthday and three days prior his 20th wedding anniversary to his beloved wife, Sandy Teltow-Duke.
Now that Duke is sitting at the feet of Jesus and looking into the eyes of God, it’s up to his widow to hold the family together that he left behind. Unfortunately, Sandy is disabled and brings in very little income to support the entire Duke family. I come to you on the family’s behalf and ask not only for your prayers and positive thoughts, but, also humbly ask for monetary support for Dukes final expenses and help to get the family through the holidays. The family takes comfort in knowing that only one day in Heaven is a thousand years on earth and that they will be reunited by suppertime.
Duke and Saundra “Sandy” Teltow-Duke’s legacy is one to be proud of. K-Lynn Martin-Toilo is currently serving our country as a valued member of the Navy in Norfolk, VA. K-Lynn is married to James Martin-Toilo and they have one child, Duke’s namesake grandson, KAL Garrett. Their other daughter, Tacie Duke, is currently attending college working on becoming an EMT. Tacie Duke resides in Canyon, TX with their “son-in-law” Cody Wilhite. They have one son, Kameron Sotelo of Amarillo, TX.
Duke’s extended family includes; Barbara and Vernie Teltow, his mother and father-in-law and a brother-in-law Patrick Teltow, all who reside in Canyon, TX.
Sandy asks that you don’t mourn his leaving, but, celebrate him having been here, for it is better to have loved, than to have never loved at all. Sit down and drink a cold one with him, just don’t do it at the house.
The family would like to extend a “Heartfelt Thank-you!” to the ones that have been there every step of the way with his wife. They really do appreciate the love and support.
Per Dukes last request, a private memorial will be held and the viewing will be announced prior to fulfilling his last request.
All funds donated go directly to the Duke Family.
