This is Maria Isabel Llanas. If you didn’t already know her, I’ll tell you a bit about her. I couldn’t have asked for a better bestie, she was the apple of her mother’s eye, she was like a sister to her cousins, loved by us all. At the age of three, she was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. Imagine feeling short of breath and fatigued your entire life? By the age of 24 she had lost a lot of her lung function, which led to her first bilateral lung transplant followed by her second and last opportunity at life. Sadly, she went into chronic rejection and on June 2nd 2021 she lost the lifelong battle against pulmonary hypertension. Her grieving mother continues to stand strong, and is now faced with completing the last page of her only daughters final chapter.
