I am a close friend of the family. I grew up in the same neighborhood as the Kennedy's. For myself, and all of our other friends, we considered the Kennedy's as our own extended family. They're a family that was always willing to have people over (even if Patti was grumpy about it) and would never allow you to leave their house hungry. More importantly, you always knew you had a place to stay if ever needed. Dylan was the youngest out of Rich and Patti's three sons. He had a personality that could light up any room and was always willing to help anyone in need. Dylan was the type of guy that was always willing to engage with you in a conversation over a plethora of different topics. These conversations could span anywhere from his beloved St. Louis Blues to which stocks he and his brothers should invest in for the future.
As the entire world was affected by COVID-19, the Kennedy's were also dealing with Patti having health issues that lead to a long stay in the hospital. Dylan was described as the rock to their family during these hard times. This was done by doing what Dylan does best: Making sure his mom was getting healthy and keeping his dad and brothers on the right track with a positive outlook. As a close friend of eldest brother Bryan, he would always tell me how much of a help Dylan was to his parents and making sure their mom continues to get better and gain her strength back. There's a saying " When you choose to see the good in others, you end up finding the good in yourself". Whether you knew Dylan for years or just had a few simple conversations with him, you could easily see the good in him which ultimately strived for you to be a better version of yourself.
With everything going on in the world currently we understand the difficulty you may be experiencing. On behalf of Dylan Kennedy, if you are ever needing to talk with someone about it, please don't hesitate to call on a family member, friend, or seek professional help regarding those difficulties. We all struggle with things in life. Its important to check in on the ones you love and lend a helping hand as Dylan always would.
Please donate what you can to help offset some of the costs for the funeral arrangements. Any amount is welcomed and much appreciated. Thank you.
RIP Dylan Kennedy.
