Paying tribute to Cheryl

Cheryl Cornelious-Ayala, who most recently served as a clerk in the Visual Arts and Media Studies division, passed away July 26.
She had been with the Pasadena City College community for 20 years, serving first as a college assistant and then a regular employee in a range of administrative roles. Cheryl’s welcoming spirit and sparkling flair greeted countless students and faculty as they entered the VAMS office. She frequently stayed after hours to assist evening faculty and staff, and she enabled the VAMS office to run smoothly. Many of you may recall Cheryl’s beautiful voice, as she would hum and sing softly throughout the day. Although we will miss her, we hope that she is finally at peace and free from pain.
Cheryl’s passing came after she had taken leave to tend to medical issues, and when she ultimately lost her battle, her family was at her side. The funds will help Cheryl's family pay for funeral expenses.
