Memorial Fundraiser for Simone Babes Trust Moss

Our beloved friend, soul sister, and spirit mother Simone Babes Trust Moss passed away recently. Simone dedicated her life to glamour, acceptance, and boosting artists' careers. As the founder of Bushwig, she gave many queens their first opportunity to perform on the stage. Most of all, she was a loyal friend who treated her friends like family. She was the least judgemental queen in the city.

Simone did more for her friends, upcoming artists, and outrageous queens than anyone. At the end of her life, she was focused on glamour, and we owe it to her to give her a glamorous life celebration. We are planning a memorial in Manhattan, where queens will perform, a DJ will spin, and friends and chosen family will deliver loving, celebratory eulogies. Simone would want an outrageous memorial, and that's what we are going to give her.

We are raising funds to create the send-off to the afterlife that Simone deserves. Funds will go toward:

-Cremation costs (approximately $2,000 to $4,000)

-Simone's final wishes were for her ashes to be divided up and placed in jewelry given to her chosen children. We will cover the costs of the jewelry

-Travel costs, if needed, for Simone's mothers and/or wife so they can attend the memorial

-Renting space and any space-affiliated costs in Manhattan for the memorial

-Any unexpected memorial costs

Any remaining funds will go to charitable causes Simone supported. Simone would want her memorial to be a party and celebration, and we hope to create the "vibes," as she would say, that she would want. We appreciate any help!

UPDATE: Thank you all for your incredible support during this challenging time. As we reflect on the outpouring of generosity since the GoFundMe's launch, we've gained deeper insights into the causes and charities dear to Simone's heart. In light of this, we've decided to raise our fundraising goal to extend our impact even further. The additional proceeds will be dedicated to the causes she held close. Our team is actively researching, collaborating, and engaging with the community to ensure that the funds are channeled effectively to empower queer artists and support trans entrepreneurship. We'll be providing updates on our progress shortly. Your continued support means the world to us.

Additionally, we have decided on September 11 as the date for the memorial in NYC. Please save the date. We will have more info to share soon on the time and location. Simone would want to see you there!

SECOND UPDATE: For clarity, Simone's grieving wife, Carina Washington, has approved these funeral plans. A portion of the ashes will be brought back to Europe.
