Dear Urban Pooch Clients, Friends, and Families, We are devastated to share that our beloved daycare counselor Jose Gonzalez suffered a sudden and tragic death on July 21st. Family focused and a loving father, Jose leaves behind his three children.

Jose was a proud resident of Humboldt Park and enjoyed living in the neighborhood where he could often be found playing and swimming with his kids. Known to be quite the prankster, we have all delighted in hearing the stories about his best gags and high jinks. Memories of Jose will forever make us smile.

Jose is treasured by us all at Urban Pooch. He joined our family in 2018. Jose was very dedicated to his work, knew every dog by name, and always had a smile on his face.

After 15 years in the pet industry, Jose had great instincts with each and every pet. He was an excellent mentor to his peers. Jose provided guidance, encouragement, and instilled confidence in his colleagues.

We have created a Go Fund Me account to benefit his family. Donations will go directly to Jose’s brother Alex to pay for funeral expenses and help to support his three children. If you are able, please consider donating to Jose’s family during this difficult time as they navigate this tragedy and learn to move forward in life without him.
