Hey everyone,

I'm raising money in memory of my mom who passed away from liver cancer on 7/25/21. Over the past year-and-a-half, she loved hearing the stories of the community fridges in NYC and the growth of mutual aid networks that helped those folks who were most disproportionately hurt by the fallout related to COVID. Since last spring, I've made a point to donate half of my bounty from each batch of bread or baked goods, buy extra groceries to drop off at the fridge, and contribute both my time and money directly to the local mutual aid network.

I will be splitting the final donations 50/50 between @gowanusmutualaid and the @thegowanusfridge, which are the two closest MA and community fridge entities to where I live in Brooklyn. She would absolutely love to know that people were contributing to community-centric resources that give direct help to those in need.
