On Monday, June 15th, we lost Colby Dunavan, after a 4-day struggle in critical condition following a tragic car accident near his home in Naples, FL. His life-long friend, Wayne Addkison II, also passed in the accident. Colby leaves behind his beautiful young family - wife, Colleen, daughter, Wesley (6) and son, Whit (4). This family unit was everything for Colby and his absence in their lives leaves a hole that will never be truly filled.
Colleen and Colby had just celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary after meeting in the restaurant business in Dallas in 2006. Colleen was truly the love of his life and his admiration and adoration of her was apparent to all who knew them as a couple. Everyone in Colby’s life loved his adventurous spirit, quick wit, huge smile and most of all, his true sweetness that he shared in caring and doing for those around him. As a husband, father, son, brother, colleague and life-long friend to many, Colby touched us all with his huge heart – the size of his beloved home state of Texas. As a medical salesperson with a flexible schedule, Colby was able to pitch in on the home-front in a big way. His kids will miss their carpool captain, fishing partner, golf instructor, tutor, BBQ pit-master, story-teller, Dallas Cowboys fan-club leader and really, their best friend.
Colby’s incredible young family needs our support. We ask that you give generously in memory of Colby and to honor his legacy by supporting his children’s future in education and in life. We have 2 important objectives for this fundraiser: 1) $50K to lessen the immediate burden during this devastating time, and 2) $200K for Wesley’s and Whit’s education and college tuition fund ($100k each). Our total goal is $250,000.
