Dear friends,
With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Patrick Gorden, a devoted husband, father, brother, and a respected member of the Fire Department HCESD 48.
On February 28, 2024, Patrick left this world surrounded by his family and his fire department family & friends, leaving behind a void that can never be filled.
Patrick's impact was felt on every level. His infectious sense of humor, radiant smile, and unwavering love touched the lives of everyone he encountered.
He dedicated his life to serving as a volunteer firefighter, and his passion and commitment led to his eventual promotion to a salaried position as a mechanic.
He was known as a mechanical genius! Patrick took care of the entire fleet of emergency vehicles at the Fire Department making significant contributions to the fire service community.
In 1994, Patrick began his journey in the fire service as a repair technician for Pierce Dealership and attained numerous certifications in all areas of fire apparatus maintenance and repair.
He became a certified EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician) for all levels of fire apparatus, ambulance, and law enforcement vehicle design and performance standards, encompassing all related systems.
From 2010-current, Patrick joined the West I-10 Fire Department.
While demonstrating his commitment to keeping his community safe. He obtained certifications as a structural firefighter and a driver/operator, showcasing his expertise in emergency response. Patrick's unwavering pursuit of knowledge led him to pursue medical training, where he aimed to become a TCFP (Texas Commission on Fire Protection) certified firefighter and EMT-B (Emergency Medical Technician-Basic)
As we mourn the loss of Patrick, we come together to support his family during this challenging time. We have initiated this GoFundMe campaign with the hope of alleviating some of the financial burdens with the space to grieve and heal without the added worry of finances.
We humbly ask for your support in any way you can. Your generous donations, no matter the amount, will make a significant difference in helping the Gorden family navigate through this difficult period.
We must mention we are immensely grateful for everything the Fire Department have done to support the Gorden family- Especially Jackie and Chief Sidwell! Also the North Cypress ICU team for their compassion and coordinating with the Fire Department to send Pat on his “Last Ride”
We will be updating the campaign with details about the upcoming celebration of Patrick's life, as he would want us to remember him with joy and celebration. We envision a gathering in conjunction with the Department to honor Patrick's legacy and the impact he had on all of our lives.

We know Patrick was welcomed with open arms into Heaven by his Mother, Father, and late Father in law John, whom only passed just 1 week ago. As you can imagine the turmoil the family is going through. PLEASE keep Patrick’s ENTIRE Family held up in prayer!
