Mario Ruiz was tragically killed in an avalanche while performing avalanche risk reduction work at Cerro Catedral, Bariloche, Argentina.  Mario was the Patrol Director at Cerro Catedral and had recently returned to Bariloche after working on exchange at Aspen Highlands for the 2019-20 season.  He leaves a void in in the hearts of everyone he's worked with in the past 30 years.   The fundraiser is to help support the family Mario leaves behind and create a meaningful memorial for one of the best in the industry.  Funds will be distributed to his widow Carola  Astudillo and family affected by his sudden loss.
