Memorial Fund: Karole Johnson & Stephen Malenfant

Our loving mother, Karole Johnson, suddenly passed away on December 3, 2020 after a brief illness.  She is pre-deceased by her husband and our loving father, Stephen Malenfant, who suddenly passed away in 2012.  Both Karole and Stephen were registered nurses in Maine and were committed to the care and well-being of others above all else.  They met so many wonderful colleagues and friends in their careers that were dedicated to the care of others in the field of healthcare.  Karole worked as a nurse manager in the psychiatric field and Stephen worked as a nurse in many different clinical settings throughout his life.  We are starting this fund raiser as a memorial fund in their honor.  All proceeds will go to a granite bench to be constructed in their name on the Portland Trails system in the North Deering neighborhood of Portland, Maine where they loved to hike and walk.  Additionally, any remaining funds beyond the bench will go towards an annual scholarship at Caribou High School, where they both graduated high school, for a top graduating student attending nursing school.  These funds will be utilized by their sons, Caleb and Micah Malenfant, for the above purposes.  Thank you for your contributions in keeping the memory and legacy of these two amazing nurses and people alive.
