Zahiem immigrated to Canada in 2019 from Jamaica with his mother and brother. His mother came to Canada as an international student in fulltime studies at Fanshawe College and is working fulltime to make a better life for her sons. Her youngest son Zahiem has been living with Sickle Cell disease since birth. Sickle Cell disease is an inherited red blood cell disorder in which there aren't enough healthy red blood cells to carry oxygen throughout your body causing severe bodily pain. Zahiem had multiple doctors appointments and hospital stays since his stay in Canada, all at his mothers expense. This has resulted in a financial burden for his mom who is a single parent.
Unfortunately, Zahiem's battle ended suddenly on Sunday October 24th at Victoria Hospital at the young age of 6. This is a very devastating time for his mom and his brother.
Please consider donating, as your support will help to ease the financial burdens for the family during this emotional, mental, and physical time of grief. At this time she is burdened with grief and faced with making a difficult decision as to how and where to bury her son Zahiem.
On behalf of his mom Donnalee, thank you all for your words of encouragement, prayers, and continued support during this difficult time.
