Memorial Fund for Walter Isaac Salas Asencios
Donation protected
On August 31st, 2020, Walter Isaac Salas Asencios valiantly fought and lost his battle against pneumonia caused by COVID-19. Until his last breath, Walter was a warrior who took any health challenge head on with the utmost courage and dedication to survive for the people he loved. Throughout the years, he has battled against kidney failure, intestinal disease, cancer, and most recently, coronavirus. Walter is, without a doubt, the strongest person I (his son) have ever met in my entire life. Not only was he the most caring father anyone could ask for, but was also a loving husband, and an overall amazing person.
It is with deep sorrow that I must announce his passing to all of his friends and family. Dad, a million prayers will not bring you back, and a million tears will not make this any easier, but we stay strong, just as you have, in memory of you. We take this challenge in life to live life without you, in memory of you. I never imagined a life without your contagious smile illuminating any room you stepped foot on. Or a life without your beautiful voice resonating in every corner when you would sing. You were the happiest man I knew, facing every challenge with a smile; from giving our family an opportunity in this country to your continuous and stubborn efforts to put our education first, you were an amazing father.
For those of you who knew him, I challenge you to think of a time when he wasn’t happy. Perhaps this is the best memory to be left with, knowing that he lived life to the fullest despite all of the doctor’s visits and hardships we’ve faced for well over a decade. Dad, I promise that I will take care of our family from now on. We will be okay; you just focus on a life without sickness in a place we all wish to be in the afterlife. For those who wish to help our family through this difficult time, any donation is greatly appreciated. We will miss you dearly. Rest in peace, papá.
