Memorial fund for Rodney Hu

On May 2, 2020, the sun set without one of its shining lights... Some called him sensei, some called him coach, some called him uncle, some called him bro, two beautiful children called him dad, one lucky lady called him husband... & we all called him friend. A loving and kind person is an understatement to describe this amazing human being. As serious as he may have looked, he was the kindest and goofiest person and everyone knows it.
Rodney left us very tragically & suddenly on Saturday afternoon. He enriched our lives more than he ever wanted to accept, which makes him such a humble soul. His passion was not just karate, but to be the best person he could be for himself, his family & friends.
Rodney made a powerful impact on this community, our extended families, & his karate students by teaching all to strive with effort and to “NEVER GIVE UP”. We must remember the selfless person he was and reflect on how we could continue his mission of making a difference in someone’s life. Every single person that he knew was a piece of him and he held onto those until the end of his life. Now, it is time to take a piece of him and cherish it for the rest of yours.
To everyone that has shared memories and words for our family on social media, texts and emails, we extend our gratitude to you.
Rodney was taken from us too soon, but we are so blessed to have had him for 45 years. We will “Never Give Up”. Rest in Paradise... your legacy will live on....
All donations will go to Mary Jane, & their children Jr Boy & Kealohi to help alleviate the financial burden of funeral expenses, medical bills, & other expenses that will arise during this difficult journey.
