Memorial Fund for Nicole Benzenhafer and Son
On August 3, 2021 at 11:30pm, Nicole Benzenhafer was pronounced dead at Reading Hospital. While driving home from work, Nicole - known as Nikki by those closest to her - was in a head on collision. The man in the other vehicle was going over 80mph down Queen Street, a residential road, when he blew a stop sign and hit Nikki’s SUV. The impact was so devastating that it sent her SUV flying across the road and into a woman’s backyard. Neighbors came out to try to help, but she was stuck in the vehicle and the injuries were too bad. The cops and firefighters used the jaws of life to release her but it was too late. Nikki was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital. The man responsible received no life-threatening injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.
Nikki is a 35 year old young woman and single mother to pre-teen son. She worked two jobs and spent her free time with her long-time boyfriend Kevin Priotte and his daughter, who Nikki immediately treated like her own. She is beautiful, smart, and full of life. Her loyalty to friends and family knows no bounds. She has the greatest sense of humor, accompanied by the most wonderful laugh. My parents called us the “Giggle Girls” when we were kids as we would spend all day and night just laughing. She kept this humor and light with her into adulthood.
We have created the GoFundMe to help with memorial/funeral expenses. Nikki did not have life insurance or anything setup since she was only 35 and the I’m sure the thought of dying and leaving her son without anyone was not something she thought of. She is survived not only by her son, but her 2 older sisters Hope and Stacy, a younger brother Joey, and younger sister, Marla. We will all be pitching in but will need help with the service.
