My name is Vanessa Palmer and I am starting this fundraiser to assist my sister and brother-in-law with expenses relating to the passing of my nephew, Nathan. Nathan has battled cancer for the past year and three months. Nathan was able to return home from Seattle Children's Hospital shortly before his one-year anniversary since his diagnosis. Nathan fought hard for a year, enduring intense chemo and radiation treatments, and the cancer was undetectable on his scans when he was released to come home to Montana while continuing maintenance treatment in Kalispell at the beginning of November.

Just a few weeks ago, Nathan's blood counts started to drop, so his maintenance treatments were put on hold while he received blood transfusions. About a week later, when he was due to restart treatment, he appeared to come down with pneumonia. He was life-flighted back to Seattle and placed on machines to help him breathe as his oxygen levels were very low. The Seattle Children's Hospital placed him on all the antibiotics, ran numerous tests, and eventually determined the cancer was back with full force. Nathan was too sick to restart treatment, and it was decided to put him on comfort care. His whole family and most of his extended family rushed to Seattle to surround Nathan with love and say our goodbyes. Nathan passed peacefully, surrounded by his mother, father, brother, and sister on 1/20/2026.

All donations will go to assisting the family with memorial funds and expenses incurred while the family grieves their guardian angel, Nathan.
