I didn’t want to sit down and write this. I tried for the last week. Writing this meant that losing my dear sweet friend was all too real.

It is with great sadness and a broken heart that I have to announce the passing of our dear friend, Mrs. Maggie Gray on Sunday, January 1st, 2023.

She was at her beautiful home through the holidays with her family when just before New Year’s she became very sick and had to be hospitalized. Her cancer progressed very quickly.

Please forgive us as we stumble through the wreckage of broken hearts to find our way through such a magnanimous loss in our lives.

As many of you may know, Maggie previously had breast cancer. Last year she received a clean bill of health. Suddenly in October, Maggie suffered a seizure which led to the discovery that her cancer had metastasized and a tumor was found in her brain and other organs.

This community rose up to support her fight against stage 4 metastatic breast cancer! Each and every donation, phone call, text, and email all meant the world to her. She felt loved, supported and cared for. Maggie made an impression on everyone she met, she had a smile that lit up a room and laughter that would stay in your heart forever. She had a strong mind and a strong will that carried her through her difficult fight over the last few years.

The death of a loved one is such an elusive experience
Your mind spinning to catch the last moments of connecting
Reaching out in disbelief that something could be so final
One last moment, a last memory, reaching for just one more…
Only a second in time, you’re still here, I can feel you, I hear you, I see you
How can it be
Just give me one more chance
Only a second in time

As originally posted:

Our beloved friend, Wife, Mother, Sister and Woman of God, Maggie Gray, has been diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer and is currently planning to travel for the extensive medical care she needs to battle this horrible disease. I started this fund for her as this will be 100% out of pocket; she will have a minimum of $55,000 in medical costs, travel, lodging, meals and more. She is unable to work to pay the extensive bills. 100 percent of all the proceeds that GoFundMe releases will go directly to Maggie.

Maggie has her Masters's Degree in Human Resource Management, is a Licensed Real Estate Broker, is an active Realtor with her own business and is a Professional Recruiting Consultant. She is married to her best friend, Glenn Gray, for 20 years and is a wonderful Mother to her beautiful daughter, Zamarri.

Her hard work, professionalism, and tenacity have made her a stellar businesswoman dedicated to church and family. She is style and grace. The day I met Maggie 17 years ago, I knew God brought me an Angel. Maggie has a heart of gold, and she is truly an angel to all who know her; she is a beloved member of this community.

However, cancer doesn’t care what your resume looks like, how many people you know or how much good you do. No matter who you are or what you do for a living, medical bills pile up fast, so we hope to help ease the Gray's family financial burden as much as possible.

We need our community, you, to stand with Maggie and the Gray family. Please help Maggie as she battles for her life — all hands on deck. Prayers, financial donations, love and well wishes are all welcome from our community to help lift her up as she takes on this battle for the second time.

Any amount is a blessing; please share the link and spread the word.

In love and gratitude,
