Memorial Fund for Michelle Hofeling
Donation protected
My mother, Denise Michelle Hofeling-Lemrise, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017 of a heart attack on the Vincent Thomas Bridge in Long Beach. She was 46 years old.
Even as I write that paragraph, it feels surreal to me. If you knew my mother, you knew her and I had a very strained relationship but I loved her with my entire heart and I am so broken knowing she is gone. My mother was a good person with issues like anyone else and I have heard so many great stories about how she reached out to help people and made friends as easy as could be. She had a righteous sense of humor and a way with words that would put the best author to shame.
She is succeeded by her daughters, myself, 25, Madaline Lemrise, 14, and her granddaughter Elsye Sewell, 10 Months. She leaves behind her husband Mark Lemrise, her brother, Mike Hofeling, her sister-in-law, Jennie Hofeling, and her cousin, Shelley Sours.
She was born on December 19, 1969 to Jeanette Hofeling and Michael Hofeling Sr. She was a waitress at Hof's Hut and a Casual down at the ILWU Local 13 in Long Beach, but most of all she was a mom.
As her eldest daughter, I am taking care of her Memorial expenses, along with the help of her close friends. If you can donate anything at all, it would be incredibly helpful. We will be throwing a Memorial ceremony (place and time TBA) and we will need as much help as we can get.
My mother's body will not be released for 1-3 weeks because of the LA County Coroner's office being so swamped so we have a little bit of time to collect as much funds as possible.
If you knew my mom and want to attend the Memorial, please email me at [email redacted] or get in touch with Toni or Alex.
Thank you all very much for your support and love, my phone has been ringing off the hook and I would be so lost without all the people whos life was effected by my mom.
Rest in Peace, Mom. I am going to miss you so much. I love you.
