Memorial fund for Margaret Cedeno

On July 3, 2022 beloved daughter, wife, mother and NYC public school science teacher Margaret Cedeno was tragically taken way too soon. Margaret, age 43 battled breast cancer with the force of a ninja, she redefined the word bravery on a constant and impacted the lives of all she touched. She oftened joked that she could “ kick cancer’s a$&” and if you knew her you believed that if anyone could, it would be her. A fierce tenacity, a heart of gold and a mouth filled with humor, Margaret was a role model of authenticity.

She suffered complications related to chemotherapy and left behind a beautiful family, her beloved husband Sergio and partner of 30 years, and her 2 loving children, Jackie and Sergio. An entire community of friends, colleagues, students, and parents mourn the loss of Ms. Cedeno. Margaret will forever be etched in our minds as the model for bravery, a fearless warrior who came to work daily even though chemo ravaged her body, mind and spirit. She proudly rocked her bald head, never hiding her truth and always grateful for the next day. Her bravery, beauty and strength taught us all that courage is showing up, fighting for everyday and being unapologetically real.
