On Tuesday, January 19th, 2021, after a long and hard month of being hospitalized, we lost our beloved father, Luis Alfredo Granados as a result of complications due to COVID-19. He leaves behind two children and his amazing wife of 25 years. He passed away at the age of 54, he was an amazing husband, father, brother, and friend. He was a family man that cared more about others than himself. His love for everyone in his life and his selflessness was an example and model for all who knew him. His laugh was contagious and he always knew how to make people laugh.
I never really thought of a Go Fund Me, but after countless conversations, and hearing the hard truth of what my family has ahead of them and the burdensome of medical expenses to come and will continue, I could not just sit back and do nothing.
My father’s story:
He was born in Bogota, Colombia on June 21st, 1966 and was the second youngest of 8 children. His family nicknamed him “nene” for being the youngest boy. He grew up with a passion for cars and a need for speed. If you knew him, you knew how obsessed he was with cars. His whole life revolved around them.
At 21 years old, he suffered a gunshot wound that almost ended his life. As a result, he spent months in the hospital and had to have his pancreas taken out. This accident forever changed his life by leaving him diabetic. This disease never slowed him down and he kept thriving no matter the circumstances. He married my mother, Luz Diana Castano, in 1995 and had two children, Maria Alejandra and Juan Andres a couple of years later. My dad left his country in the year 2001 to provide a better life for us. He came here with nothing and worked endlessly to be able to provide a roof over our heads at all times. Fast forward 19 years and our family now has a small business that was built entirely by my father and mother. We are continuing his legacy by keeping the business open and helping it grow even more.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, it is just my mother, brother, and I dealing with everything that has come about during the past month. His passing has taken a big toll on us mentally and financially. Please help us cover his funeral, medical and financial expenses. Please donate any amount and share with anyone who can assist us. Our family is so very grateful for every donation received during these difficult times. We also ask you to please continue to keep our family and all others affected by Covid-19 in your prayers. We are comforted in knowing that our dad Luis Alfredo Granados, is resting in peace in the loving arms of our Father Jesus Christ and is no longer suffering. During these difficult times, we want to thank everyone for their continuous prayers over our family. He was so loved and will forever be missed.

El martes 19 de enero de 2021, después de un largo y duro mes de estar hospitalizado, perdimos a nuestro amado padre, Luis Alfredo Granados como resultado de complicaciones debido al COVID-19. Deja a dos hijos y su increíble esposa de 25 años. Falleció a la edad de 54 años, era un marido, padre, hermano y amigo increíble. Era un hombre de familia que se preocupaba más por los demás que por sí mismo. Su amor por todos en su vida y su nobleza fue un ejemplo y modelo para todos los que lo conocieron.Su risa era contagiosa y siempre supo hacer reír a la gente.
Nunca pensé en hacer un Go Fund Me, pero después de innumerables conversaciones, y escuchar la dura verdad de lo que mi familia tiene por delante y el gravoso de los gastos médicos que se nos viene encima, no podía quedarme con los brazos cruzados y no hacer nada.
La historia de mi papa:
Nació en Bogotá, Colombia el 21 de junio de 1966 y fue el segundo menor de 8 hijos. Su familia lo apodó "nene" por ser el niño más joven. Creció con una pasión por los carros y la necesidad de velocidad. Si lo conocías, sabías lo obsesionado que estaba con los carros. Toda su vida giró en torno a ellos.
A los 21 años, sufrió un accidente bastante delicado que casi acaba con su vida. Como resultado, pasó meses en el hospital y como consecuencia a esto le tuvieron que sacar el páncreas. Este accidente cambió para siempre su vida dejándolo insulino dependiente. Esta enfermedad nunca lo frenó y siguió prosperando sin importar las circunstancias. Se casó con mi madre, Luz Diana Castano, en 1995 y tuvo dos hijos, María Alejandra y Juan Andrés un par de años después. Mi padre dejó su país en el año 2001 para darnos una mejor vida. Vino aquí sin nada y trabajó sin fin para podernos proporcionar una mejor vida. 19 años después, nuestra familia ahora tiene un pequeño negocio que fue construido enteramente por mi padre y mi madre. Seguimos con su legado manteniendo el negocio abierto y ayudándolo a crecer aún más.
Debido a circunstancias imprevistas, es sólo mi madre, mi hermano y yo los que lidiamos con todo lo que ha ocurrido durante el último mes. Su muerte nos ha afectado mucho mental y financieramente. Por favor, ayúdenos a cubrir sus gastos funerarios, médicos y financieros. Por favor, done cualquier cantidad y comparta con cualquier persona que pueda ayudarnos. Cualquier exceso de donaciones será donado a la Asociación Americana de la Diabetes en honor a mi padre. Nuestra familia estara muy agradecida por cada donación recibida durante estos momentos difíciles. También pedimos que por favor continúe manteniendo a nuestra familia y a todos los demás afectados por Covid-19 en sus oraciones. Que dios los bendiga.
