Memorial Fund for John C. Varela
It saddens us to announce the untimely death of our dear friend John C. Varela on Sunday, November 22, 2020. John is survived by his beloved wife, Jaci, and their fur babies, Francis, Frida, Arya, Freddie, Fiona, and Harley, along with his dear mother, Yolanda, and sister, Pilar, nephews, Mateo and Nico, and countless others who he held dear.
As shared by his sister "John soaked up every bit of energy from his family and friends. He enjoyed life to the max. His smile and laugh were contagious and loud." Anyone who was blessed to know John will always remember his smile. He lived quite a life, rose above so much, and built a home full of love. As a proud brother of Nu Alpha Kappa, John built memories and friendships that lasted all these years past his time at Cal Poly- San Luis Obispo and shared in all the milestones of his brothers and friends. He loved to share adventures and loved to have people come together. John was thoughtful, kind, with a huge heart and a passion for rescuing animals. Many who knew him saw him transform when he built a life and family with Jaci and their fur babies. He would light up when he talked about his home, his wife, and his babies.
As you can imagine, the family is grieving right now and the last thing we want them to worry about is finances. Funeral and memorial expenses are only the beginning for this family. We are reaching out to the community for donations to help offset his final expenses, and if possible to help relieve some of the financial strain Jaci will face during this devastating time.
Anyone who knew John, knows that he had a huge heart and would help anyone who needed it. Please consider helping his family in their time of need.
