Several friends and family members would like show their condolences and greatest sympathies to Joemichael and Analise, Joe's children, and we love and appreciate all the love! We understand that many people would love to show their support through financial contributions to cover funeral costs, remaining medical expenses, etc. These gifts will primarily cover Joe's funeral expenses, but also a portion of the financial gift would go towards a donation to the Baylor Scott & White Liver Transplant Services where they help patients such as Joe. This team provided Joe with excellent care from 2015-2021 when he received his life changing liver transplant. They cover medical expenses, prescription drugs, patient care, and transplant research. We would love to make a donation in memory of Joe as a thank you for helping him during his time of need. If you would like to donate to BSWH directly please go to: https://dallasfoundation.bswhealth.com/ways-to-give/donate and select "Transplant Services" in memory of Joe G Garcia Jr.
Thank you for all the LOVE and SUPPORT!

Joe Garcia Jr. was born on July 31st, 1965 to Joe Garcia Sr. and Margarita Garcia in Lawton, Oklahoma. He raised two children, Analise Garcia and Joemichael Garcia, with their mother, Maria Vela, in San Antonio Texas.
Joe’s passion his entire life was Music. He played bass guitar and sang with his friends and family for over 40 years. He inspired his children, nieces, and nephews to pursue music in many different ways. He supported both his children through their achievements, including their college degrees, careers, marriage, and buying a home. He attended Community Bible Church and walked with the Lord in his daily life. He loved Barbecue - His greatest joy in life was celebrating Cowboys games by cooking out with his son and loved ones. His birthday this year was spent smoking a brisket and spending time with his family. Joe loved his dogs, Bullit and Taco, who were both rescued by him and given a wonderful and loving home where they ate lots of treats and human food.
Joe Garcia Jr. passed peacefully on August 22, 2021 due to complications with COVID-19 at Northeast Baptist Hospital. His closest family was able to see him briefly to lift him up in prayer as God brought him to the gates of heaven. Joe is survived by his father, Joe, his mother, Margarita, his daughter Analise Garcia, his son Joemichael (JD) Garcia, and his siblings, Michael (Ursula) Garcia, John (Margot) Garcia, and Mary Gloria. He leaves behind a large extended family full of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly. Joe’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the extraordinary health care team at the Northeast Baptist Hospital Medical Intensive Care Unit for their compassionate and patient care.
Joe’s services will be held at Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Home at 11 am on Saturday August 28th, 2021 with a viewing 9-10:45 (address 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, TX 78218).
