Memorial fund for Jason Owens
Hi, my name is Ken!
My nephew Jason Owens recently passed away from complications of Covid 19 on Aug 28. He left behind a beautiful wife Crystal and two daughters, Bayleigh and Mila, ages 4 and 2 respectfully. This fundraiser is to support his wife Crystal and his daughters through this emotionally devastating time!
Jason was 37 years old . He had made all the right moves in his life. He studied industrial plant maintenance after high school and worked for a small manufacturer for 10 years before finding his dream job with a much larger manufacturing plant in the same town. It was one of those jobs that everyone looks for if they don't choose to go to college. He had worked at the plant for the last three years and was well on his way to the American Dream. All of his coworkers and virtually everyone who he came in touch with at the plant spoke highly of him.
He and Crystal met on a blind date and it was literally love at first site. They got married and decided to buy a home out in the rural area where Crystal was from. They have dogs, cats, a big yard for the girls to play in. Life was good! The girls adored Jason and treated him like a big, warm teddy bear. They would crawl all over him laughing and squealing like only little girls can do. And Jason absolutely loved it. Before they came along Jason would spend time fishing, messing with old boats and watching football and baseball. He spent many Saturdays at my house in the fall where we would have college football parties and root for our favorite team. After the girls arrived Jason spent pretty much all his time with Crystal and the girls. When he got off work he couldn't wait to get home to be with them. He was a great husband and father and was crazy about his girls.
The week of August 23rd Jason was sent home on Covid protocol after being exposed to someone at the plant who eventually tested positive. While in quarantine Jason began to run a fever and felt bad so he got tested and was positive. He still didn't think much of it and isolated himself in one of the bedrooms to ride it out. On Wednesday he decided to go to the clinic where they suggested he get on oxygen. He got a portable tank and an oxygen monitor that goes on your finger and returned home. He contracted pneumonia and was admitted to the hospital on Friday morning. Without going into more detail he passed away on Saturday around 2pm. It was shocking, devastating and seemed surreal that he was gone that fast.
Please consider helping if you can. Crystal is devastated. Mila is too young to understand but Bayleigh cries at night for her father. It is an incredibly emotional time but the worst is that the clock keeps ticking. They say time waits for no man. You never understand that more then when your income suddenly stops and the bills don't. As much as we would like to none of us can bring Jason back. But we can definitely lessen the stress by helping financially! Anything you can give will be a blessing. Please help Crystal, Bayleigh and Mila get through this brutally difficult time.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Ken
