Memorial Fund for Jane Abena Aggrey
Donation protected
Jane Abena Aggrey was described by everyone who knew her as a bright light. When she was around, you felt more positive, more inclusive and joyful... Truly joyful... She had a profoundly kind, friendly, and caring nature.
Jane died on April 28th after being admitted to the hospital the week before with stomach pain... she eventually experienced organ failure. She was only 45 years old. What makes her death all the more heartbreaking is that she had just adopted a three year old little girl, Avery, from Ghana, where her family is from. Jane's mother, who resides in Ghana, was scheduled to bring Avery to be united with Jane in the US. While they were waiting to come to the US, the COVID shelter-in-place order happened so Jane's mother and Avery couldn't make it back before she passed away. They are still in Ghana as her family is struggling with this sudden loss and Jane's brother, Jamaine, is in the US having to make the funeral arrangements on his own.
This GoFundMe memorial campaign will help pay for some of the funeral costs as well as what will be a very complex and expensive international trip home for Jane's mother and daughter... who sadly will not get to see Jane again. It will also support some of the living expenses for Avery once she arrives in the US. Jane's family and friends are devastated, as you can imagine, and it's all that much harder that they aren't able to be together right now.
Please help support Jane's family through this terrible time by contributing to her memorial fund. Also please consider sharing this campaign (whether or not you choose to contribute)! Sharing to social media helps so much and it's also great if you can include a little intro to the post so people know what it's about - you can even copy and paste parts of what I wrote above.
Thank you so much for your support, Caroline
