To Jan's family and friends,

It is with a heavy heart that we share news of her passing. Jan was a person who held infinite optimism and always believed that there was no challenge that couldn’t be overcome. Her incredible strength of will carried her through the many obstacles she faced in her life, touching the lives of many in turn - be it the family she grew up alongside, the friends she made along the way, or the students she mentored in her pursuit of music.

Our mom fought valiantly against her declining health these past several years. She was someone who deeply loved her family and always sought to give us everything she could. She leaves behind her husband and her two adult children - my sister and I, who are in the process of arranging a funeral and memorial service for her.

Many people have asked if there is any way to help in this difficult time, so we decided to set up this fund. Unfortunately, our family was not financially prepared for her passing, and the costs associated with her burial have been a little overwhelming. For anyone who is able to and would like to donate, we wanted this option to be available. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the support we’ve received from everyone during this time of loss, and we deeply appreciate any help received here from those who are able to give.

Thank you so much to everyone who filled Jan's life with love, laughter, and beautiful memories. She will be greatly missed.
