This week, the Buckmaster-Ross family experienced a sudden and devastating loss in their family. Gernot was the loving husband to Meagan and father to Grace as well as step-father to Maddy, Hazel, and Ben. After not hearing from him for 8 hours, his wife called the police to do a wellness check and he was found unconscious. He was quickly transported to the hospital, where condition quickly deteriorated. Gernot's family said goodbye to him today because he will be removed from life support later this evening. His organs will be donated, one of his final acts of kindness to the community. 

Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, Gernot had lost his job and had finally found a contracting job in Arizona, where he did not have medical or life insurance. This has left the Buckmaster-Ross family in a financial situation they are not able to pay for by themselves and need help from the community. In addition to medical costs, they will also be using the donations for a memorial service, covering the costs for cremation, and helping with living expenses as their family figures out next steps.
