It’s come with a sad and hurting heart that our dad, Franklin Kirkland (Duke), went home to be in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. On December 23rd he took his last fleshly breath but his spirit will live on for eternity. This loss came very fast. About 4 months ago he was diagnosed with lung cancer after a freak visit to the ER for something else. The Lord pushed his treatment with chemo and radiation. We weren’t sure at the time why, but now we know. The cancer was very aggressive. It was growing rapidly and dad was too weak to fight. He has been a fighter his whole life but his body was failing him. He is survived by his 2 daughters, Kristina and Jamie (Anthony), and grandkids; Matthew, Kayla, Bryan, Arum, Bella, and Aviana. As this loss came very quickly, our family is asking for help. The lord says, ask, and you shall receive. We need to raise as much money as we can for a proper visitation and cremation for our dad. We will also need to pay for the burial and marine salute for a proper send off! These are our dad’s wishes. He will then be buried next to his 4 children that he has lost; Helena, Sabrina, little Duke, and Curtis. Visitation will be for immediate family only at 1:30pm tomorrow, Thursday, December 26th.
