Memorial Fund for Dan La Fave

Donation protected
Dear friends and family, this gofundme is being launched in response to multiple persons’ expressed interest in donating to a memorial fund for our father, Dan La Fave.  All proceeds will be given to his wife, JoAnne La Fave to assist with funeral expenses etc.  The goal has been set to a minimum amount of money (in essence open goal), please donate as you see fit. Please continue to pray for the repose of Dan’s soul (this is the greatest kindness you could give to our family).

On behalf of the La Fave Family, I would like to express our profound gratitude for the outpouring of prayers and support over the last month. Our beloved father, Dan La Fave passed on to his eternal reward on January 7th, 2022 at 4:25 PM. He fought valiantly for over a month, battling numerous complications from his initial hospitalization with COVID. Despite numerous lung clots, extensive lung scarring, and an intense and sustained amount of pain; Dad fought his way out of the hospital and was home for two (all too short) weeks. We were blessed to spend Christmas day with him before Our Lord began to call him. He was forced to return to the hospital, the night of his Anniversary on 12/27/21. Dan was deeply loved by all his family and friends who have known him over the years. We find consolation knowing that Dad passed away from this world having received all the sacraments available to him that very week (Extreme unction, Holy Eucharist, Penance) wearing a scapular, miraculous medal, and holding a Rosary. Numerous Catholic Priests visited his bedside throughout the week, with our Pastor, Fr. Graziano appearing outside his window immediately after his passing (he gave all present family members his blessing). As he departed this world, our mother, JoAnne La Fave (his wife of 35 years) held a vigil at his bedside and all of his immediate family were able to say final goodbyes (including in-laws, grandchildren, siblings, and parents).

The Wake will be at Maresh Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00-7:00 PM at 803 Main St, Racine, WI 53403.
Rosary to be said at 630PM.

Dad’s funeral Mass will be held at Pius V Church in Mukwonago, WI this Friday, January 14th, at 10:00 am.
