Memorial Fund for Cristian Leiva

At 12:19pm Friday, my baby cousin Cristian passed away in San Francisco. Cristian— a die hard Raiders & Warriors fan, a fearless, strong, dedicated father, loving son & big brother. He is my moms brothers son. My sweet baby cousin who I first scraped my knees with playing tag, who always wanted hugs, who grew up schooling me about the Raiders, who loved his family so much that he proudly  tattooed Family Forever on his arms. His weekly visits consisted of telling us stories about his never ending adventures, letting me know whether or not he liked my nail polish choice lol, heading straight to our fridge when we opened the door (such a foodie), always reminding me to let him know if anyone’s messing with me (thanks primo) & bringing my grandma her favorite scratchers. Lo siento abuelita. I can’t believe you’re gone. I can still smell your cologne & the Old Spice. I can still see your peacoat hanging on the chair & your headphones on the table.... With so many hospital restrictions, we couldn’t hold him This pain is indescribable. First cousins— the siblings you never asked for, but always wanted.
