Memorial fund for Bob Batey

Robert Batey entered the cosmic dimension on July 8. He was a shining star in every corner of the artistic community. Growing up roaming Laredo Little Theater, he was no stranger to creativity. He began his musical career as a percussionist at Trautmann Middle and United High. He continued as a self-taught guitarist and attended VMT's MIDI program graduating from Martin in 2007. He studied composition under Górecki at LCC and classical guitar under Soto at TAMIU. His love for jazz, funk and reggae drove to the creation of local bands Santo Vicio and The Real Man. An audio engineer by trade, Bob lived with passion and conviction. He put 130% of himself in ever project and conversation. He strived to create a community for the artists by the artists by synergizing events with all platforms of art from having live painting and spoke word at music shows to spearheading large-scale art and music shows in local establishments. His star will now shine bright in the universe.

This GoFundMe will support the purposes of afterlife expenses as well as the initiative to begin a memorial fund that will support scholarships for students pursuing advanced studies in the arts.
