Help us remember and honor Santiago by building a memorial playground in his hometown of Barstow.  All contributions to the "Memorial Fund FBO Santiago Loya" will be utilized to improve existing recreational facilities and to construct a memorial.

Santiago was born November 15, 1989 in West Covina CA to Andrew & Florencia Loya.

He was a loving brother, uncle and patriot who spent 6 years serving his country as a Nuclear Machinist Mate onboard aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt.  Upon completion of his honorable service, Santiago became a leader in renewable energy  with over 9 years of experience working with multiple technologies.  As a loyal teammate and employee of NextEra Energy, Santiago advanced the renewable industry with contributions as a Control Room Operator,  Energy Storage Specialist and Site Manager of the solar and storage assets in Colorado. 

Santiago graduated from the University of Bismarck with a bachelors in energy management and an Associates in power plant technology. 

He loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with his many friends and family. Santiago was known for being a comedian and having a kind heart to the people around him.  He was always willing to help and had an energetic vivid presence that has left a lasting impact on everyone who had the opportunity to live, work and serve with him.

Santiago was preceded in death by his father Andrew, his mother Florencia and brother Ricky Loya. He is survived by sisters Yvette Ruiz & Toni Loya, brother Roman Loya, and was a loving uncle to his 6 Nieces and 6 Nephews. He will be forever missed.
