Memorial for Tito Marcelo Rivadeneira

He leaves behind our Mom, Patricia Rivadeneira, his wife of 41 years.

Together they started a family and had each other's back through challenging moments and also enjoyed wonderful memories. Dad was always by mom's side, doing whatever she needed. Like holding a sign protesting injustices against interpreters as was documented in The L.A. Times several years ago. Or that time they started a business on a whim because my mom knew our family needed more money and with Dad's support and her resolve they could do anything together. 

Before Dad's tragic death, he was very excited about reuniting with his Daughter Carla and his wonderful grandchildren, Benjamin 10, Amaryllis 4 and Amelie 2. Cutest kids you've ever seen. He'd never met them in person. They knew Grandpa from FaceTime. He was looking forward to hugging and kissing them for the first time. 

After several legal hurdles and through assistance from the U.S. Embassy, his daughter and grandchildren are ready to come home and be with his wife, who now bears the responsibility of helping them settle all by herself.

The money raised will be used to help cover Dad's funeral costs as well as 4 plane tickets for Carla and her 3 children from Belgium to LAX. In addition, Grandma Patty will be looking to upgrade her Vehicle to a Family Minivan to accommodate the little ones.

Let's help our beloved Patricia fulfill her husband's final wishes as she enters this new challenging chapter in her life. Her heart may be broken but she is not alone and her family is close to an important reunification that will help repair it.
